Rain, rain, give us a break; we need to dry out, for goodness’ sake.

WHY WE HIKE

About the Adventurers

We’re tree spirits.

Was giving up our jobs in the middle of a pandemic crazy? Probably. Was it worth the wilderness adventure of a lifetime? Definitely.

Sweaty is just our style.

The stinkier and dirtier we are, the better. We have the rest of our lives to work a washing machine.

We believe in beauty.

We find not just joy but renewal in nature. Mountains are our medicine.

We grow through grit.

We’re all about adversity. Every step makes us stronger.

We’re grateful every step of the way.

Not everyone gets this sort of opportunity. We’re thankful to be healthy and to have a strong community.

Help Us Make It to Maine

We’re walking across America for our honeymoon. Check out our Wanderable site if you’d like to contribute to our grand adventure.

A ride into town

Our thumbs thank you.

Some fresh clothes

Give our feet a treat.

A rest day

A real bed. A hot shower.

Maybe a beer.

A week of food

Eat. Hike. Eat. Hike. Sleep. Repeat!

Two weeks on the trail

We appreciate every mile.

HOW WE MET

The Approach Trail

Bob and Rachel met in 2010, after years of staring at each other at Boy Scout meetings. They bonded in band and AP Psychology, in which Rachel passed notes and Bob got in trouble. They graduated from Truman State University in 2014-15 and moved to Columbia, Missouri, where they bought a home in 2019. Their interests include babying their cat, Alice; hiking and biking; cooking meatless masterpieces; and worrying about things they can’t control. They never forget it’s a wonderful life.
